Loving Not Judging
Led by the Spirit of Christ's unconditional love for all people, especially those whom the world has marginalized, we welcome all to the table of the Lord and share the truth of God’s grace in the world.
An Intergenerational Community of Faith
Unlike larger congregations with different ministries for each age level, at Holy Trinity we are just the right size to be an extended family of meaningful intergenerational relationships. Children are not only accepted at Holy Trinity, but they are valued as full participants in our life together. We strive to include children and youth in all areas of ministry from worship to service. People of all ages are given opportunities to learn and grow together. And we are intentional about creating meaningful relationships between children and adults (in addition to their parents) who care about them.

A Holistic
Approach to Service
At Holy Trinity, service to others is lifted up through a holistic approach where we not only engage in activities to directly address the surface needs of others, but we also strive to understand and speak to the underlying reasons those needs exist. We are intentional about linking service with justice and advocacy. By focusing on one social concern at a time, we dig deep into that concern through all areas of our life together, particularly worship, education, fellowship and direct service.

Beyond Gay Friendly...
Holy Trinity is Gay SUPPORTIVE
Of the 700+ churches in Charlotte, many teach that gays and lesbians are going to hell. Some tolerate them. A few are gay-friendly. Less than 1% are actually SUPPORTIVE of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons. At Holy Trinity, we believe being supportive of LGBT persons is a given for followers of Jesus Christ.
We don’t talk about homosexuality as a sin, because we don’t believe it is one. We don’t accept gay people as long as they keep quiet about who they are (as in “don’t ask/don’t tell”). We don’t try to convert gay people to become straight. (Just as we don’t try to convert straight people to become gay.) We don’t welcome LGBT people into our community with any restrictions on their level of participation.
We support all people in their loving relationships and encourage commitment to those relationships, whether they are straight or gay. We celebrate sexual orientation as a God-given gift, no matter what that orientation may be. We encourage all people to live authentically and fully as the people God created them to be.

Reconciling in Christ
We are a
Reconciling in Christ Congregation. Recognizing Lutheran congregations that welcome lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered believers, the Reconciling in Christ ("RIC") roster now exceeds 300 settings, including congregations, synods and organizations. Holy Trinity is proud to be one of them.
