Time Out Youth

Time Out Youth is a unique organization dedicated to serving the needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youths. They exist because the reality for our youth is that:

  • 42% of homeless youths identify themselves as gay or lesbian
  • 28% drop out of school
  • Suicide attempt is 5 times more likely among them

Being a sexual and gender minority, youth face social stigma, suffer from a higher degree of depression, substance abuse, sexual abuse, and violence. Time Out Youth offers support groups in Charlotte, Hickory, and Gastonia.
